MAYA - Natural Language Processing and Generative Artificial Intelligence applied to Spanish language teaching

The recent boom in generative artificial intelligence has made it a tool with an inevitable presence in the field of education. This course will present the main advances in this field, together with the more established field of natural language processing, from the point of view of Spanish language teaching. The course is elaborated in the format of short audiovisual pills, with the aim of conveying a general overview of the technologies and serving as a springboard for further training on the specific aspects of greatest interest.

Methodology:

The course is developed in the format of short audiovisual pills, with the aim of conveying a general overview of the technologies and serving as a starting point for further training on the specific aspects of greatest interest, complemented with additional material. It is designed for students of different profiles with an interest in the teaching of Spanish and/or generative artificial intelligence, without the need for prior technical knowledge, to work on the content sequentially over a few weeks or months, and concludes with a test on the contents, the passing of which will enable them to obtain a certificate of completion of the course issued by the BISITE group of the University of Salamanca.

Syllabus: Theoretical and practical bases of Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI (GPT, Llama2, Stable Diffusion...), other AI applications (Speech to Text, Text to Speech...).
